Where is Portland, Located?

Portland, Jamaica, is a parish located on the island’s northeast coast. It’s nestled to the north of St Thomas and to the east of St. Mary. It’s roughly 2:30-3 hours from both Kingston and Ocho Rios.

THE GOOD

Relaxing: Portland is largely untouched by urbanization. Most of the parish is lush green vegetation. The atmosphere is one of utmost bliss. There is no noise and pollution, which makes the parish the perfect place to unwind and get in touch with your inner self.

The Resorts: The hotels in Portland are generally very small and cozy. They are perfectly nestled into the natural environment and are unassuming.

The Blue Lagoon: The Blue Lagoon on its own makes Portland worthy of visiting. It’s a grand estuary which is fed by multiple fresh water springs. With a depth of around 180 feet at its deepest, it’s ideal for diving and snorkeling. It’s also breathtakingly beautiful and picturesque.
